      At longton CLC this morning we did many things, such as finding out which science teacher forged a 60 thousand pound cheak to Sandon we found out it was Mr Worthy this was called chromatography. What we did was put a dot of the teachers pen ink on the bottom of a testing card and put it in water untill the ink had spread up the testing card ,and then we found the culprit that was Mr Worthy because his pen ink was the ink on the card and so the other teachers were innocent                                              Next in the day we went to another room and wrote on the computer all about the planets and info on them. Then watched a small power point on them to show us all about mars ,earth and saturn and how there is a little rover on the planet taking pictures and samples of  the soil there to see if there was life and if there is water under the soil.    

Today we went Longton City Learning Centre and first this morning we did a experiment. we all went in seperate groups. I was in Mrs Green’s first and my group went and did a experiment on chromatography. what it was about was that there was a check for £6000 and one of the teachers changed it for £60,000. The  teachers were ( Miss Ellis, Mr Peak, Mrs Heath, ,Mr Worthy, and Mrs Green).We had five pens and they were labelled A B C D E. we took turns to have a pen and drew a small dot on the bottom of  the  strip of paper they gave us. We then put on the top of the strip in pencil the letter of the pen and put the paperstrip in a test tube with water in and stopped when the water just about touched it . At the end we found out that it was Mr Worthy. I found that lesson very good and enjoyable.

If you wanted to you could just take photos out of other peoples files of your mates because we were all split into two groups so you couldn’t take pictures of them you could take one that they took. In this slide show you could add pictures words music and other things.

Chromatography

Today Mr Worthy (A fictional teacher from Sandon High school) was arrested for forging a check worth £60,000 when it was only worth £6,000. I M Loaded, the check payer, was furious! We found out that Mr Worthy forged the check by using chromatography. Chromatography is where you put a small dot of a pen onto a strip of paper, and dip that into the water, just below the dot, but the paper must still be in the water. I enjoyed this part of the day because we got to accuse Mr Worthy of stealing £54,000.

Hi, My name is Zena. In this blog I am going to write about my day so far at the clc and all the activities we did today. Today at the clc we did many things such as we did a sheet on our planets we found out interesting facts and learned the differences between friction , weight and mass. We also were trying to figure out if there was any life on mars , we looked at a picture of the planet mars that had been taken off a satellite and there was a face so we suggest that there could of possibly had been life on mars .The next thing we did was we had to find out which teacher had forged cheque out of our teachers at Sandon High .We did this by using Chromatography .We later found out that it was Mr.Worthy had forged the cheque. Then we had a break where we were looking at pictures of some people who visited CLC in primary school, it was very funny to see how much they had changed. Following this we then did a photo movie. We used a programme called photostory .We added all the photos we had taken in the earlier activities, then added writing onto the photos, explaining what we were doing in the picture.We then could change the effects and added recordings to the photo movie, and if we had any more time we could add music while the photo movie was playing. It was lots of fun viewing everyone’s photo story as well as your own . The next activity we had a science quiz to complete with all our group. We each had a vote pad and had to press whichever answer we thought were correct . It was funny to find out who got answers wrong and what they pressed. We beat the other group because our team group won a complete total 13 (four times)  and the other group only  three. After we did the science quiz we went and visited the music studios They were brill.  They had all the latest expensive technology and ace instruments these were drums, guitars, keyboards etc..I think this activity was the best so far. I have really enjoyed today and I would want to come and visit again!

This morning we did an experiment at Longton C.L.C . We at to find out which teacher changed the cheque from £6,000 to £60,000. We had 5 pens and 5 test tubes as there were 5 suspects of doing it. We added water to each test tube and then put a dot on every paper with the 5 different pens. We then checked all 5 papers and looked carefully to see which one was the same as the paper which had been done before, with the pen which had been used for the cheque. The teacher who changed the cheque was Mr Worthy. I thought that this experiment was quite good, as i liked looking at the different colours on the paper. Then we went next door and made a photo story on the experiment which we had done before.

We added text sound and photo’s which we had took in our experiment before with a digital camera. I thought this activity was better than the one i had done before. I thought this because i enjoyed using the computer.

After we had done that activity we then went on to our next activity. We were on the voting pads and did a science quiz. This was quite good as well but could of been better if we saw our own overall result.

Today in the first project we did chromatography and we had to find out who had forged a fake check from a very generous person called Mr I M Loaded it originally said £6,000 but one of the teachers had changed the check so it said £60,000. In the end we found out that Mr Worthy had changed the check.Then we changed projects and we learned about gravity, space, mass, forces and things like that.

Then we had dinner, and I had fun with tim on the computers then we had a tour round the recording studio it was quite good because our studio at our school is quite small and rubbish, then we created these blogs and went home.I think the best part of the day was having dinner and the part where we learned about space n stuff.

This morning at the clc (computer learning centre) on the 15th of November we did some investigations. The first investigation was the one with the cheque. for that we had to find out which science teacher made the cheque from 6,000 to 60,000. there was 5 pens and 5 test tubes. we added water to the test tubs , and we made a mark on the paper with each of the pens . we then put it into the test tubes to see which teacher did the forgery . i found this quite good because it was fun. the teacher who had made the forgery was Mr Worthey. it was a good start to the day. we also took photographs which we needed for later 0n.

The second thing that we did was when we was looking at mass, weight and friction. we were loking at a power point presentation in all of these things. it was great because the photos and slides were brilliant. we had to write our interpretation of what they meant . i learn lots of things from that presentation

Hi my name is James brown and I’m a student of Sandon high school and today we have learnt at Longton high  CLC. We did lots of different experiments such as the +chromatography test where there were different type of pens, that could been involved of scamming a man could MR I M LOADED. We used a test tube with water in it and if the ink spread like the person who did it, you who it wright. We told pictures of all these events.We used photo story and made are own story bored with music and animation. The second activity was about the different planets and their facts. After that we had a quiz and i got lots right. It was fun and enjoyable all day.

Today we went to Longton CLC; we did Chromatography, the Magic Planet, Vote Pads, and Photostory and then filled in the blogs. I enjoyed the chromatography the most, because we also got to take photos and later put them into the photostory and create a video with text, images, motions, music and also we could record our own speech explaining about the pictures and what we did. Today was really good and I learned loads and was able to try out loads of different things, hopefully we would be able to do this again in future lessons at school.

This morning at the CLC we did many things in such a short space of time. Firstly we did a chromatography experiment; this was based on a cheque. We had to find out which suspect had forged the cheque. We had to take five pieces of paper and put a dot at the end of each piece of paper with five different pens. We had to put each piece of paper into a test tube filled with water, but we didn’t put the whole piece in we just had to make sure the end was touching the water. The paper soaked up the water and the ink of the pen trawled up the paper as if by magic. In the end everyone found out who committed the crime. It was Mr Worthy!                                                                                                  Next we did about magic planets, this included mass, weight and friction. We watched a video about mars and other things. Then on the computer we had to write down 3 points about mass, weight and friction, everyone wrote something down. We were asked questions about what we saw on the PowerPoint and only a few people dared to answer =) loll. This session went quick because it was fun and I learned allot out of it. I now have my own work about mass, weight and friction. The teacher made everyone laugh because he kept saying every time you hear the mc Donald’s theme think mass!! It was really funny.            After break we played a quiz on these like machine things. We had 20 questions to answer and they were all based on science. Every question had an answer which were ladled either A, B, C or D. Everyone had to answer or there mark would be lost. We had to press an answer then press enter you could see how many people had answered at the top of the page. Then the teacher showed us how many people answered with thaw wrong answer and how many people got it right (most of us got it right anyway).          The next session we had to make a movie using photo story. On the computers we used a program called photo story. We added all the pictures we took in the day. We had to put them on the movie and we could add all different effects to the pictures. After we had to add text on to the picture about what we were doing in the photos. Once we had done that we had to record us speaking about what was going on in the photo. Once we had finished that we had to make some music to add to the movie and then it was finished. We could watch the photos and we saved them so they will always be there. It was really fun!        The next thing we did was writing this blog. I had to write about what we had done today. It’s been GREAT and FUN!!!!!!!!!! It took me along time to write it because I could not think of what to write in the whole blog. We had to take 5 different pens Mr Peak’s, MrsGreen’s, Mrs Heath’s, Mr Worthy’s and Mrs Evan’s and put a little circle of each pen on a different piece of paper and put it in a test tube that had a little bit of water in it then we placed the paper in it.  After a while the ink started to run up the paper and we had to work out which teacher had changed the amount of money sandon high school would be getting. We found out that it was Mr Worthy, I thought that this was very enjoyable and would like to do something like this again.

Chromatography In the first test we found out who was a culprit of changing a science check. We put the ink on the end of the filer paper and put the end into a small amount of water and let the ink rise, we wear looking to match 2 patterns to find the culprit. We find out that it was pen A. I thought this investigation was quite interesting as it was something we could relate to because it was our science teachers. We also took pictures of what we did to be used later on. Science fiction In this part of our day we were looking at life forms on different planets. We were looking at how life could produce on Mars. Because there is ice a the poles on Mars, it can be melted into water and separated onto hydrogen and oxygen, so with water and oxygen vegetation can grow. And eventually more and more life could be on.Science quiz In the science quiz we answered questions on science. We used vote pads to answer the questions and they interacted with the board.  It was an enjoyable quiz because we managed to get most of the questions correct. Photo story We took the pictures from earlier on and used a program called Photostory and edited the pictures by putting recordings and music on them, and adding things like slide transitions like PowerPoint. This was a fun exercise because it was very easy to use and easy to relate to because it was much like PowerPoint.

the first thing we did when we went into the seminar room was learn about the universe answering variuos questions about it. A man called Mr Hacket and he guided us through the process of learning about these planets and he showed us a new peice of technoligy called the magic globe. The magic globe was really interesting and i think interested everyone in the room. We also did about forces about like friction and gravity we also learned that mass isnt a force. After the lesson on the universe and forces we went into the training room to do a practical experiment this experiment also had a story behind it.  This story was interesting it was sort of like a crime investigation. It was that mr loaded had posted a 6,000 pound check and one of sandons science teachers had put the amount up to 60,000. so we had to investigate the different pen types of all the science teachers in sandon. This involved Mr Peak, Mrs Green, Mr Worthy, Mrs Heath and Miss Ellis. We had a piece of paper and we put a dot on the paper with each of the teachers pens. We had test tubes with a drop of water in each of them and we had to put the dot just up to the water. It the spread the ink and it spread to a different colour. The colour that matched the colour pen on the check was the culprit. It was Mr Worthy. we took pictures of this project at different stages.

After break we went back into the seminar room we continued to learn, but this time we learnt about photo story. photo story was something we did like a slideshow but more advanced. to do this we used the different staged pictures. we selected  some of the best pictures and put them into our slide show. next we added  text explaining the project and the different stages. then we added voice clip to also explain the photos in more detail.We added relaxing music to the project it was brill.

We exchanged rooms and went into the training room where we explored the new vote pads. Thse pads were all programmed to the computers so that we could be moniterd on what answers we got right or what answers we got wrong. Tis was good because it meant not writing out answers.

 THE CHROMATOGRAPHY TEST

this morning Sandon came down to Longton city learning centre to do a number of different things the main thing we did was a chromatography test to find which pen had edited Mr I M LOADED check that he sent to Sandon high school we did this by getting a piece of paper and putting a small dot of ink on it then placing it in water to see how the ink spread then we took pictures of the results

then made a photo story about it adding recordings pictures and text to the picture with music playing in the background

then we did a quiz with a handheld that have just been donated to sandon high school the day was enjoyable and the worse bit was walking here and back

In our first lesson we had to do an experiment to find out wich pen was used to write a cheque. While we werte doing this we were given a camers to take photographs of the evidence.  With the photographs we put them onto the computer using a u.s.b cable. When it was connected to the computer we then had to choose wich photos we wanted to use for the video. We then edited the videos by writting about what it shows, we also added effects to the photos to make it more creative. When we had finally done that, we had to add sound clips of our voice so that it was even more effective and detailed. Then when we went into our next lesson we had quiz pads we had to answer questions on the board and after we had answerd them Jenny would show us a graph on the board to see how many people had got the answer right or wrong xx
